31 Jan tiny pencil drawing
I gave this little drawing to my sister for her birthday. It was fun working their likenesses into the children’s illustration style I’ve been developing.
One of the first things you learn when you get to art school is make it bigger. If you decide not to make it bigger how will anyone ever see it? Make it bigger lets everyone know you have art star swagger.
Small photo of a gooey gummy bear = boring and plebeian.
Wall sized photo of that same gooey gummy bear = a bold artistic statement.
I’ve been questioning the merit of the bigger is better rule. But then lately Antiques Road Show has been shaping my thoughts about art more than say friez so take it for what it’s worth.
